We all fall into tradition at one time or another. When we find something that works for us, we tend to stick with it. The same goes with beauty and hair products. However, there may come a time when your most trusted items may not work as effectively as before. What’s a gal to do? While it may seem hard to say goodbye, you may want to look into upgrading your traditional products with their new and improved versions.
If you’re the stubborn type who doesn’t take well to change, this bit of advice may be very hard for you to follow. You may be thinking, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” but in reality, you could be doing your beauty routine a whole lot of good by chucking the same beauty and hair products you’ve been using and trying something new.
Over time you may have always enjoyed fabulous hair. For years you may have reveled in having hair that curled easily, framed your face in just the perfect way, and never gave you any problems. But perhaps you’ve been experiencing a change in your locks.
Maybe you’re no longer able to get the great style you’ve been doing forever and when you use your trusted and true hair products, they no longer seem to have any effect. Or maybe you’ve had the good fortune of sporting a radiant and blemish-free complexion for eons without ever having to change products. But suddenly you’re finding yourself with some skin issues that your cleanser and moisturizer may no longer seem to be able to tackle. No matter how much you put on, your skin stays the same or may even get worse.
The bad news is, this may be a sign that your skin or hair has built immunity to the products you’ve been using. Our skin and hair loves to be treated to healthy formulas and ingredients but over time, they tend to stop working so great and become used to what you’ve been applying to it. This can result in a stagnant final look. Instead of struggling to get your hair and beauty products to continue to work for you, look into trying a new set of products.
If you’re in love with the brand you’ve been using, then feel free to stay within that brand but search for the latest products in that line. Chances are you can find the same type of items but with new and improved formulas. Or if you are up for a complete change, look for a totally different brand.
Your best bet is to visit a beauty supply store or the beauty department at your local department store and ask for assistance from a beauty consultant. Let them know that you’re ready for a change in your products and tell them what items you’ve used in the past, what you liked about them and if they can recommend a similar product.
To make sure you have a good experience, see if you can get product samples to try at home. If you love the results, then you can go back and purchase the full size item. So when in doubt about the effectiveness of your skincare and hair products, switch up your beauty arsenal with something new. Your complexion and hair will love you for it!
