Most people have heard of cellulite but not many people know that their body type could actually contribute towards whether or not they develop it.
It is the bane of most women’s lives and you really cannot open a magazine up without seeing a circled picture of some celebrity with cellulite. There are several different treatments available to reduce the appearance of it, but nobody really knows how to eliminate and prevent the condition from appearing in the first place.
Contrary to what people may think cellulite happens to each and every woman at some stage in their lives. It does not matter if you are fat, thin, sporty or a couch potato, you are at some point going to develop cellulite and your body shape determines exactly where abouts you are going to get it.
Cellulite and Your Body Type
There are four different body types and these include Lymphatic, Thyroid, Android and Gynaeoid. Each different type has a different shape and different fatty deposit areas, and that is what determines where cellulite will build up.
Lymphatic Body Types
If you have a Lymphatic body type then you are unlucky enough to have the worst type of body for cellulite to develop on. Basically you are prone to putting weight on all over the body and the weight also comes on pretty quickly. This is due to the fact that you have a slower metabolic rate which makes it harder to burn off the calories and fat that you eat every day.
Generally you are not only at risk of developing cellulite but you are at risk of developing severe cellulite and that can appear anywhere on the body.
Android Body Types
If you have an Android body type, you will have broad shoulders and a strong physique. Generally Android types have a body-builder type metabolism which means that you are more prone to gaining weight on the upper body than you are on the lower body. If you are going to get cellulite it will appear on the front of the abdomen and on the hips, but you will never usually see it on your lower body.
Gynaeoid Body Types
Gynaeoid body types have quite a curvy shape to them and they generally have a small waist. Weight gain is usually found mainly on the thighs and the lower buttocks and when you try and actually lose weight, you will notice that weight tends to come off from areas that do not really need it. So, the most common area for cellulite on the Gynaeoid body type is on the buttocks and the thighs.
Thyroid Body Types
Finally, the Thyroid body type generally has long limbs and models and dancers usually belong to this category. Luckily if you have this body type you do not find it easy to gain weight and you have the body type that is least likely to develop any cellulite. If you do get a problem it will usually be on the buttocks or on the back of the thighs.
So your body type does make a difference when it comes to developing cellulite, and now you should have some idea of what areas to combat and where to look to see if you do have a cellulite problem.
